matabangsa.com – Langkat: Dalam mendukung program swasembada pangan yang dicanangkan Presiden RI Prabowo Subianto, Menteri Koordinator Bidang Pangan Zulkifli Hasan memimpin Rapat Koordinasi Bidang Pangan Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Rapat yang berlangsung di Aula Tengku Rizal Nurdin, Rumah Dinas Gubernur Sumut, pada Selasa (21/1/2025) itu turut dihadiri oleh Pj Bupati Langkat, H. M. Faisal Hasrimy, AP., M.AP, yang menyampaikan permasalahan irigasi di Kabupaten Langkat.
Rapat ini juga dihadiri oleh Menteri Perdagangan Budi Santoso, Wamendagri Bima Arya, Wamentan Sudaryono, perwakilan kementerian terkait, Pj Gubernur Sumut Agus Fatoni, Forkopimda Sumut, kepala daerah se-Sumatera Utara, serta BUMN dan BUMD.
Dalam arahannya, Zulkifli Hasan menekankan pentingnya mewujudkan swasembada pangan sesuai visi Presiden. “Reformasi selama hampir 29 tahun tidak memberikan tambahan signifikan pada sektor pangan seperti pabrik pupuk atau irigasi baru. Ini menjadi catatan penting bagi kita,” ujar Zulkifli.
Ia juga menyampaikan bahwa target tahun 2025 adalah menghentikan impor beras dan jagung. “Kami telah menghitung kebutuhan dan alhamdulillah tercukupi. Dukungan kepala daerah yang sejalan dengan visi ini akan mempermudah realisasinya,” harapnya.
Pj Gubernur Sumut Agus Fatoni menyampaikan data optimistis terkait kondisi pangan di Sumatera Utara. “Target panen Januari-Februari 2025 sebesar 352.000 ton gabah atau setara 225.000 ton beras. Dengan kebutuhan 180.000 ton beras di periode tersebut, kita akan surplus,” jelasnya.
Fatoni juga menargetkan produksi 4 juta ton beras sepanjang tahun 2025 dengan dukungan penyediaan benih, saprodi, penyuluh pertanian, dan subsidi pupuk.
Sebagai lumbung pangan terbesar kedua di Sumatera Utara, Pj Bupati Langkat Faisal Hasrimy mengungkapkan tantangan yang dihadapi kabupaten tersebut. “Kabupaten Langkat memiliki 6.000 hektare lahan sawah tadah hujan, sementara irigasi baru tersedia untuk 4.000 hektare. Bendungan Wampu yang dapat mengairi hingga 10.000 hektare belum memiliki jaringan irigasi primer, sekunder, maupun tersier,” ujarnya.
Faisal mengajukan permohonan agar pembangunan irigasi di Langkat dapat menjadi prioritas tahun 2025. “Jika ini terealisasi, Langkat siap berkontribusi besar dalam pencapaian swasembada pangan di Sumatera Utara dan nasional,” tambahnya.
Menutup rapat, Zulkifli Hasan mengingatkan pentingnya kehadiran kepala daerah di tengah masyarakat. “Jika kepala daerah hadir langsung menangani permasalahan, semua persoalan dapat diselesaikan,” tegasnya.
Dengan harapan dan komitmen yang kuat dari para pemimpin daerah, Sumatera Utara diharapkan mampu menjadi motor penggerak swasembada pangan nasional.(dave)
