Gelaran Euro 2020 sudah mulai memasuki minggu pertandingan kedua, dimana pada pembukaan minggu kedua kali ini tersaji laga antara Finlandia dan Rusia dari Grup B. Kedua tim wajib mencari kemenangan untuk memastikan kelolosan mereka menuju fase knockout.

Finlandia datang dengan penuh percaya diri karena sebelumnya mereka telah meraih kemenangan atas Denmark, sedangkan Rusia memiliki semangat juang yang lebih tinggi karena telah dikalahkan oleh Belgia. Pertandingan tersebut berjalan seimbang, dimana terjadi jual beli serangan yang cukup sengit diantara kedua tim.

Pada menit 24, salah satu gelandang Rusia, Mario Fernandes terpaksa ditarik keluar karena cedera tulang belakang setelah jatuh dari duel udara dengan pemain Finlandia. Di pertengahan babak pertama Finlandia sebenarnya mampu mencetak gol terlebih dahulu, namun harus dianulir karena berbau offside. Hingga menuju waktu babak pertama, Aleksei Miranchuk berhasil mencetak gol indah setelah melewati beberapa pemain Finlandia.

Hingga akhir babak kedua, Rusia berhasil mempertahankan keunggulan atas Finlandia dan berhak mendapatkan tiga point penuh setelah kemenangannya atas Finlandia, dan membuat persaingan di Grup B semakin ketat.

Pada pertengahan babak kedua, Wales sempat mendapat hadiah Pinalti, namun sayangnya, sepakan dari Gareth Bale harus melambung tinggi diatas mistar gawang. Meski telah gagal pinalti, Gareth Bale masih mampu membuat peluang dan kembali membuat Wales menambah pundi-pundi gol melalui assistnya, dan hingga akhir pertandingan Wales berhasil menang 2-0 atas Turki dengan Gareth Bale sebagai Star of The Match, dan Turki harus menjadi tim pertama yang gagal untuk langsung lolos menuju fase knockout Euro 2020, dan harus melalui babak penentuan peringkat tiga terbaik jika masih ingin lolos.

Pertandingan terakhir ditutup oleh Italia melawan Swiss, dimana Italia datang dengan penuh percaya diri karena sedang mempertahankan tren positif mereka diajang internasional dengan total 29 kali kemenangan beruntun.

Dominasi permainan antara kedua tim sebenarnya tidak terlalul jauh, namun kedalaman Squad Italia mampu menciptakan dan memanfaatkan peluang lebih banyak dari Swiss, sehingga Italia berhasil unggul terlebih dahulu di babak pertama melalui gol Manuel Locatelli.

Menuju babak kedua, dominasi penyerangan masih dipegang oleh Italia, dimana Locatellil mampu kembali mencatatkan namanya dipapan skor dan membuat skor menjadi 2-0. Tidak puas hanya dengan dua gol, Italia kembali melakukan gempuran hingga akhir laga, dan Ciro Immobile pun berhasil menutup laga dengan golnya.

Hasil pertandingan ini menjadikan Italia sebagai tim pertama yang lolos ke fase Knock Out (Gugur) Euro 2020.
