Rabol.id–Medan: Inisiatif Wali Kota Medan Bobby Nasution untuk membersihkan Sungai Deli, terwujud. Rabu (27/9), Pemko Medan berkolaborasi dengan TNI AD dan lintas sektoral melakukan gotong royong di aliran Sungai Deli yang melintasi sejumlah wilayah di Kota Medan dengan panjang hingga 34,5 km selama 64 hari kerja.
Susur sungai yang dilakukan Bobby Nasution bersama Kepala Staf TNI AD Jenderal TNI Dudung Abdurachman, Pj Gubernur Sumut Hassanudin, Pangdam I/BB Mayjen TNI Mochammad Hasan serta Ketua Komisi I DPR RI Meutya Hafid menggunakan perahu karet menjadi pertanda dimulainya gotong royong yang diberi nama ‘Peduli Deli’ tersebut.
Aliran Sungai Deli di Medan Labuhan Km 17,5 Medan menjadi start dimulainya penyusuran dan berakhir di aliran Sungai Deli, Simpang Kantor, Kecamatan Medan Marelan. Saat penyusuran, tampak para petugas dan personil tengah melakukan pembersihan di sisi kanan dan kiri Sungai Deli baik secara manual maupun menggunakan alat berat.
Bobby Nasution mengatakan jika pelaksanaan gotong royong bukan hanya sekadar pengerjaan tapi juga mengedukasi dan mensosialisasikan kepada masyarakat agar tidak ada lagi yang membuang sampah dan menjadikan sungai sebagai halaman belakang.
“Tujuan kita adalah bagaimana agar sungai bisa benar-benar menjadi sumber kehidupan. Artinya, tidak ada lagi yang membuang sampah, menganggap sungai sebagai halaman belakangnya atau menganggap sungai sebagai suatu hal yang tidak dipandang penting,” kata Bobby Nasution.
Oleh karenanya, dalam gotong royong yang juga mengundang antusiasme masyarakat tersebut, Bobby Nasution mengajak seluruh warga bisa ikut serta menjaga kebersihan sungai bukan hanya saat masa pembersihan saja, tapi juga hingga nanti dan sampai kapan pun.
